In order to solidate all what we have learned in the in-door sessions; the Mosaic Team had prepared several filed visits for us in the upcoming two days. Delegates were divided into four teams and each team went to different locations (most of which are companies sponsoring our event).
After breakfast we headed to our coaches, and our teams’ visit for today was to SHELL; the worldwide famous energy and petrochemical company. SHELL Qatar is located in one of the stunning areas in Doha: Qatar Science, Technology, and Research Park (QSTRC).
As soon as we have arrived; refreshments were offered to us after which we went to the Studio where the famous Arabic scientific competitive show: “Stars of Science” is shot. In the studio we had a brief about SHELL and its latest technology: GTL (Gas to Liquid), and we heard some inspiring stories from employees there.
After that we had a group photo and a tour in the company through which we were acquainted with their latest technologies in the fields of GTL and Manufacturing of Thiocrete.
Before departing back to the hotel were offered an extremely VIP Lunch catered by W hotel. Later we went back and had the rest of the day off.
The delegates teamed up to go for touristic tours, buy gifts, Desert Safari, walking around, or even sit out for a nice cup of coffe. It was a nice evening.
Later that night we were informed that we have to prepare presentations about our field visits and were instructed to meet to prepare that. we had a late at night meeting and distributed tasks between us.
